Balance beams, whether simple or composed of multiple segments, help increase coordination and train children's balance. Balance bars develop imagination, because we all know that underfoot there can be anything from sharks to hot lava. Despite their simplicity, these play elements are always popular on the playground. Walking on the balance beam, flipping on the bars and doing handstands on the ribs entertained children even in times when all the play elements were more modest.
